He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Turin (1997), a Ph.D. in Science of Culture from the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo of Modena (2005), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Turin (2011). Since 2001 he is a high school teacher. At the present he is on research leave at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa), where he is a Research Fellow in Political Philosophy.
His research focuses on contemporary nihilism and its relationship with technique and ethics. He considered such issues in the thinking of the Italian poet, Giacomo Leopardi, and in philosophers such as Emanuele Severino and Hans Jonas. He has been awarded a couple of DAAD research grants (2003 and 2008) in order to carry out scientific research at the Konstanz Universität (Deutschland), which achieved the whole of Hans Jonas’ private archive. Among his philosophical interests: intercultural studies, ethics and politics of responsibility, landscape ethics, philosophy for community.
In the last ten years he has collaborated with some no profit organizations in Piedmont. He developed several cultural, education and research projects. In 2006-2007 he was Project Manager of the European project “Landsible” (within Interreg III C Programme “ProgreSDEC/ESDP Steps”), concerning landscape planning and evaluation. He has taken part in the higher education project “La Scuola di Tutti. Pluralismo, Intercultura, Inclusione, Diritti”. The Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna was partner of this European project.
