The International Communication Association (ICA)  is the most prestigious  academic association for scholars interested in different aspects of communication. In May 2014, ICA held its 64th Annual Conference in Seattle. The conference was one of the largest in ICA history and was attended by scholars from more than 40 countries. The topic of the event was “Communication and the ‘Good Life’” and the objective was to explore what “good life” might look like in a contemporary, digital, and networked society, and what new challenges we might face in attaining it.

Among the scholars who attended the conference was Ameneh Dehshiri (PhD candidate in Politics, Human Rights and Sustainability). Her paper entitled “Living in a Glass Wall House: Social Networking Sites and the Right to Privacy in Iran” was presented in panel on “Online Privacy”, organized by the alumni of the Annenberg- Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute.
